Done some research and working on a portable, budget studio

Hey guys -

I spend a lot of time lurking these forums. Our band has amassed some equipment that we do demos on, and I think they come out pretty decently. What we use right now is:

- MacBook Pro, GarageBand, GuitarRig and Drumagog (cheap version)
- Firepod
- MXL 992
- Audix Fusion drum mic pack
- Sennheiser HD280s (yes, a headphone mix).

Someone please help

Ok, so I am a Hip-Hop artist and I have been recording with other people for a while, and they know what they are doing. So I decided to give the recording thing a shot. I have Acid Pro 6 and I need to know how to keep the vocals and the beat at a decent (good sounding) volume level. I have just been adjusting the volumes trying to see what sounds good.

home recordings

I have just recorded a track at a friends home studio. The recording sounds great on his studio system and on my system at home. However when I play it on my standard car system, there is a rattling in the left speaker in certain parts at a certain volume.

I then put on popular bands like ColdPlay and Artic Monkeys and the buzz is absent. Why? And How do I remedy this.
