I have been doing a search for "high-end " converters.

I came across the Mytek Stereo 96 AD DA series. Anyone else using them?

I have already given up from the Apogee Rosetta 200, Aurora 8 and the 192 I/O.

Also, do you guys use mixed brands for the a/d d/a? For example, use a more expensive a/d like Lavry Black and a simpler D/a from Apogee, Mytek?

So I thought for the purpose of fun and learning on the topic of mic technique, that we could have a thread that would give everyone to chance to say how they would record and instrument or scenario.

I need some good headphones for mixing and mastering in my little home studio and i got several options:
1. AKG K271
2. AKG K240
3. Sennheiser HD280
4. Grado SR125

I need them to be comfertable as well.
I use Echo Gina3g.
Which one do you think will be the best for me?

Ok to start I have a Behringer 2442fx mixing board and several mics that we all mix together by just doing rca's to the CD tape to main then to the usb digital audio converter. The program I use to record what the usb is giving is Audacity 1.3.

have just started getting into mixing and mastering my music. I've been a musician for a while, but decided this was a skill i wanted.

So i've been getting equipment bit by bit, and the other day i bought myself some Tannoy Reveal 5A's.

The problem is that when i connect them to the outputs of my interface (Alesis IO 26) i don't get any sound what so ever.

So as the title states, I am using the Tone Port UX2 with GearBox. I have a brand new XPS M1530, 4 gig ram, Core Duo 2.4 ghz; but I also have Vista Premium. I have downloaded the latest versions of everything. GearBox 3.6, Live Lite 7, and the Reaper 2 or 3.
