I am trying to learn to record so our band can start recording some of our song's. What whould you recommend for a good setup (Nothing to expensive! But i don't whant it to sound bad either!) But a overall good sound?

Last two weeks I have been surfing the net in search of a compact stereo mixer for recording (mainly classical music). But I can't seem to find what I need.

I am looking for a compact desktop model like a Mackie 1202-VLZ3, but since I already have some good mic preamps I actually don't need a mixer with built-in preamps. So a stereo line mixer would do.

wonder if you could give some feedback on the below Choir recording. This was done during a rehearsal yesterday in a midsized stone church (Reverb around 2.5 sec) with a pair of MKH8040's in ORTF
The concert is on Sunday so hopefully with your input, I can improve on the sound some more!

Well. if any of you people had listening to his first albums, then you'd noticed how low fi they are. but this kind of low-fi are necessary achieved by a low quality mics and interfaces? is something you can get using for ie a Tascam us-144 with a standar Shure sm57 or 58? is this worse or better for this?

Hey there everyone, this is my first post so forgive me if I make all the classic newby mistakes.

I have a really easy question. I have an M-Audio Delta Audiophile 192 sound card with:
Main Input (connects to mixer)
Main Output (sound before it gets to my software)
Monitor Output (the sound after software)

whats some tips on keeping analog recording tight?
i read in my manual that essentially the drums shuld be recorded first and each track individually, but our drummer hasnt been playing that long and struggles with his timing a bit,

going to get a new audio convention off the ground, and i want you guys to tell us what you want

Hey guys, just wondering whether anyone is using seventh circle preamps with a MacBook Pro? i am contemplating an upgrade in a few months... and wondering what i would need to connect the preamp chasis to the macbook pro to have it working? any advice would be great.
