Hi guys, I'm completely new to all this so don't shoot me down!

I have the Lexicon Lambda, which has two XLR inputs, and I'm using Nuendo. This may sound silly, but, would it be possible to use both these inputs and record two separate tracks at the same time? It would be acoustic guitar and vocals. My concern was that wouldn't each mic pick up a bit of the vocals/guitar?

Which one is better to Use?

I've been experimenting with recording for a while now. I connect my keyboard to my interface with an instrument cable and it sounds fine. However, it only sounds good with that keyboard, I tried recording with my Micro Korg Synth/Vocoder and it sounds slightly fuzzy and a bit distorted. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it might be the input(output?) I'm recording it through.

I thinking of parting with my venerable Allen & Heath GS3 desk and replacing with a preamp with 4 inputs. I can route via the TotalMix software that comes with my RME Mutiface card.

Sorry, these are little bit of newbie questions I've been wondering about:

1. If I'm recording a guitar amp, how loud should I have the amp? Live volume (loud enough to hear over drums)? Half of live volume?

I have a Line6 Toneport UX2 and a Behringer Xenyx 1622FX, and I've been thinking about adding a hardware preamp like a Grace Design Model 101 or a Universal Audio Solo/610/110, or even a channel strip like a PreSonus Eureka or dbx 376.

Trying to go direct from a MOTU Ultralite to my new Genelec 8040As.
The Genelecs are crazy sensitive. I have to pull the MOTU
master back 30 dB to be comfortable, and that's with the
Genelec trims all the way down. I'm sure that if I output
full signal I'd be picking driver pieces out of the back wall.

I'm looking for a media database that will allow me to catalogue all of my sound recordings and their related images and writings.
