My friends and I built a nice little studio in the back shed of one of our homes. It has come together very nice, and we are looking to buy some new stuff.
We were running Cubase LE, but the one of us with actual money to throw around doesn't like it and is hellbent on switching over to Pro Tools (which he already bought for us) and is now going to get the Command 8.

hey guys,

i am purchasing an ASUS laptop featuring Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz with 4GB RAM for my onsite recordings.

I can't quite make the "RecorderMan" overheads setup for drums (Glyn Johns-inspired modified spaced pair) react like it's supposed to. I've seen lots of pictures on the web and the now-famous YouTube video, but nothing very detailed. If anyone who's had success with this setup could take pictures, or has pictures they'd like to post, I'd appreciate seeing them.

This is my first post here but I am already in love with this site. I looking for a digital
audio interface with at least 8 channels to use with my MacBook Pro.

Suppose this counts as budget, since I aI'm to try this in under £10.

Component video = yellow lead from yellow/red/white cables, if I got the name wrong.

Right now, I have but a single piece of hardware to my name, seeking some help getting started as a live sound engineer.

I have a whole wishlist of dependable gear I'm looking at to get me started to be able to set up a gig solo, but one thing still gets me because of my inexperience in the field...

So I've been working on constructing my basement home studio (I live in Canada) for a while now, adding layers of gypsum to the underside of the upstairs floor between the joists, backer rodding, caulking, etc. I am at the point where I have added as much mass as I'm prepared to add to the ceiling and sealed everything off to the best of my ability.

I am in the process of upgrading my gear and have a few questions. I currently have a firepod and have been using it for a little over a year. Ive been very happy with it minus a few things. I also realize that although it's a good piece of gear its comes with it's limits. My goal is to buy some good D/A converters and gradually go from there.
