Peavey 16FX vs Mackie
Forums
I'm looking to buy a new mixer to replace all my old crap, Basically a mix between live/recording is what I'm aiming for. I've working with a lot of different Mackie boards and I've got nothing but praise. But I've been tracking the Peavey 16Fx and Dual USB 2.0 would be much easier than the Firewire since my DAW only has USB 2.0 ports.

192khz useful in home studio?
Forums
Is there any practical reason for a small, home studio to be using 192khz over say 96, or even 44.1? Is that high of a rate really needed or necessary?
Thanks!

HELP! school me please.
Forums
hello all. i am fairly new to the recording world. i have a pretty simple setup but it seems to treat me well for the time being. last night i laid down an improvised electric guitar peice. i am happy with the results but i have a technical issue to deal with. while reviewing the recording i see/hear that there are parts that peak high, as well as low regestering moments.

Monitor Mix
Forums
Can anyone share with me how a monitor mix on a large scale is done? It's look like I might be doing Monitors for a really large Concert theatre and I have never done more than 4 monitors.
I'm assuming that I'll get up to 8 sends from the console then have to mix that for each person on stage, but part of me thinks thats not it at all.

Guitar Preamp Help
Forums
I've owned a Marshall DSL 2000 for a while now and I love the tone coming from the amp. However, I'd like to look into having more options. I've been looking at guitar preamps, specifically the Mesa TriAxis. My question is, could I run the TriAxis directly into my DSL 2000, Using the DSL as my "power amp"? I don't know if this is a stupid question.

Quick audio interface beginner question
Forums
I'm looking for an interface that'll allow me to record- lets say a drum track-
and be able to see each individual mic as a track on my computer screen (i'm using Ntrack) and be able to raise and lower the volume and pans of multiple tracks with this interface
Would that have to be a midi interface?
I have a budget of under 400
Thanks for anything help
