My band is about to call it off (my drummer and I that is) and there is going to be a talk about settling things fairly and so on as far as musical rights go. I am the guitar player and the drummer would like to split the songs or arrangements as 50/50 rights.

I have a pair of active monitors and they are going directly into my RME fireface 400. But for some reason Im getting heavy static when I turn them on. They are the only speakers going into my Fireface 400 and they are the only speakers with this issue. Heres the weird part though.

I have a set of Roland TD-12 V-Drums, a Yamaha keyboard, a guitar stereo signal processor and a Shure SM57 mic for vocals and recording guitar amps. That's it, 7 signals. I used to run them into an old Tascam M-35 analog mixer(8-4-2), and record one instrument at a time into the stock soundcard of my computer, a one man band setup.

Hi all.

I am working on some songs that have a lot of high gain guitar tracks and I also want to bring out the bass. However, I am having some trouble getting around the muddy sound.

Any ideas or techniques that bring out the bass guitar and high gain guitar with out them sounding to 'muddy' post recording?
