LDC for vocals : cardioid vs. multi-pattern at the same price
Hi,
I am trying to make buying choise for LCD aimed at vocal (including voice-over) recordings.
I have I question.. is it common-sense that multi-pattern should cost more then their unipolar variants?

How to record Acoustic Guitar and Vocals at the same time?
Hi there!
I'm completely new to recording. I searched for forums on Google about mics and recording and found this site...
I have a Blue Yeti microphone and that's all. I need to be able to record my guitar (unplugged) and vocals at the same time with a decent sound. I tried previously but my guitar was too loud and my vocals were too quiet.
audio example of ribbon mic on vocals
Lots of talk regarding ribbon mics these past few weeks, I thought I'd post an audio example of the sound of a ribbon on my voice.
I chose to write a track that would be reminscent of when these mics were used in their heyday - kind of a jazzy/pop standard thing.
For this track, I borrowed an RCA 44BX for the vocals on this one.
Preamp was a Grace Model 101.

Vocal Tuning and Drum Quantization Service
Hello Recording.org! My name is Josh Ray and I have been writing and recording music for 6 years, and I have been working in a home studio with my brother for the past two years. My experience with recording and mixing has taught me how important tuning and timing are in any mix. A pitchy vocal and/or a poor drum performance can muddy your final product before you even make it to mixing.

Boyce Avenue vocal sound
Hey guys I'm sure you've heard of Boyce Avenue on youtube. They became famous through youtube and over the years they have made some major improvement in their videos and sound quality.
I was just wondering because he uses the same mic in earlier videos as the later ones so that is not it. What is your best guess at what changed to give him that sound and how can I replicate it.

Critique of the Vocals
Hey guys I just cut this cover of Yesterday by the Beatles. I wanted to know what you guys think of it? Any ways to improve? Are the vocals sitting right? Is the eq on the vox good? the amount of reverb? on the whole is it sounding good?

Recording and Mixing Female vocals
Anyone out there advise the best way to make a hole for Female vocals in a mix with Guitars, and Piano being the other main mid range instruments that will clash. What is the best way of doing this and if cutting on the other instruments, what frequency and by how much..
Cheers

live recording vs. multitracking for acoustic guitar and vocal?
Hi, I'm a singer/songwriter recording my first demo at college and I'm getting some conflicting advice. I'm only recording acoustic guitar and vocal and wondered how best to do this, live with no headphone mix, to a click track and add drums later or should I still overdub? any advice welcome and much needed, cheers, TC
Pop Vocals
I've been listening and thinking to the sound of pop vocals these last few years. Anyone else with me? I will be producing pop songs this next year in case you are wondering what I mean.
