High frequency noise on vocals - help
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with unpleasant very high frequency 'noise' on my vocal takes that I generally have to eq out.
It's like there's some kind of artifact above 10k (that I don't think my voice is making but you never know!). If I multitrack B vs it's really noticable - almost like a hiss or a whistle.

Creating Vocal Harmonies
I recently watched a Pro Tools promotion video where the narrater doubled an audio take and used a pitch shifter to create a vocal harmony. It sounded perfect, however it was very fast and I could not catch any technique used to do it. Also, I use Cubase SX3, not Pro Tools 7.

Basic Vocal settings / effects advice
Hi gruop. Well I have done a ton of reading on this site about recording vocals and I can't seem to find some basic information I am looking for. Hopefully someone can give me a hand.
I am not new to recording in my home studio but I am new to recording vocals. I am using Cubase SX3 and Universal Audio plugin effects. I have a vocal iso booth and using a $200 Rhode condensor mic.

Vocal Effects, Mixing techniques.
Hey guys, I'm planning on recording a new song for my solo project and for the vocals during the verse I want to have my voice sound different, like with an effect on it. The type of sound I want is like what Billie Joe's voice sounds like on the verses of American Idiot, it sounds like it has some reverb and maybe a little bit of a like megaphone sound.

Best USB audio interface for classical Vocals?
I'm pretty new to this and would like some advice from those of you who have experience with external USB audio interface cards. I've been researching multiple devices and can't decide on a specific one. It would mainly be used for classical/operatic type vocals.
how to learn vocal effects?
We're not recording, just playing in clubs, weekend warrior. Not skilled in sound engineering either so I was wondering what training is available to learn the basics of using the effects on lead vocals. We simply want to get close to the original sound on the 60's and 70's rock we cover.
We have a Peavey XR 684.

vocal effect
Hi all, new to the site here, hopefully this is in the right spot...
I am looking to do a similar voice effect to the one in NIN's "Starf*ckers", the one he uses over the beginning of the verses... although I am not sure how it is created. any input is appreciated...
Thanks...
d.

Mixing "BAD" PUNKROCK VOCALS, TIP?
Anyone got experience mixing/fixing bad vocals?
Hearing these modern punkbands live, it's like hey they can't sing. Okey some might... but it isn't very common. And when you're listening to a record, it's like day and night... Do they fix all this in the studio, or do they push the record button to the final take is on tape?

Recording guitar/bass/vocals in my room
Hello all! I'm a guitarist and a songwriting, and have only been really recording my songs on my little tape recorder so I don't forget them. I'd like to set up a system where I could record my guitar/bass/vocal tracks digitally to my computer.
I'm pretty familiar with Audacity, so I'm planning on using that for my mastering software.
