Advice on recording a solo acoustic piece
I have recently got into the percussive style of acoustic guitar playing.
I have never been truly happy with the acoustic guitar sound that I get. I think I get a passable sound but i've always been troubled when recording the dynamic shifts in my music.
Here is an example:

vocal + acoustic guitar
I been recording many years and still have never found a great solution to recording a vocalist and acoustic guitar with enough seperation to do any real EQ or processing.
I use two mics with the second mostly providing some body for the guitar.

M-Audio Fast Track, acoustic guitar direct in, and Garageband
Tips/Tricks? I have a Martin with a fishman pickup. Maybe if I could just start there? What are some ideal pick up settings for recording? On the M-Audio I have the gain up to about 9 o clock. Anything below that and the sound is just too thin. But the downside is that I clip when I go to pluck the lower strings with any aggression at all.
Acoustic Guitar Recording Nightmare!
I am trying to record my Martin D28 through a Mackie 1604 VLZ mixer into an M-Audio Delta 44 PC interface and onto Sonar X1. Until now (Midi and other audio sources) I have had ZERO problems. That is, until I tried recording an acoustic song that I've been working on. My low "C" on my guitar (Finger picking) fills the mix with a "BONG" sound.

Recording acoustic guitar with Samson G Track
Hey, I'm new to this forums, and hope someone can help me:)
I've been trying to record an acoustic guitar some time with Samson G Track (Now I know, not the best choice.) and this S/N ratio was really bad. I mean, there was lots of noise, and I could never get my signal go over (putting it's sensitivity high) -20db without sounding really hissy and noisy.

Acoustic Sessions: RODE NT5s
Hi guys!
I've just purchased a Tascam US-122 MKII audio interface, two dead cats and a matched pair of RODE NT5s for recording via my laptop, hopefully outdoors. The reason for this is to have good audio for the videos i'll be filming on my canon 550d of various artists, for posting on YouTube, but maybe also, just for readers of my site, also downloads of the tracks.
