This past weekend, I began fabricating some acoustic treatment for my mixing environment.

A few weeks ago, I was hired to do a remote for a band - actually, to mic up drums and get tones and levels on location.

This band had made arrangements with a local nightclub to use their room during the day when the club was empty.

I was thinking of having my home studio in a basement, who here has done same thing and how much noise gets out? I just don't wanna record and have police called on me.

Hi there. I am looking for a way to make the room I record in, as sound proofed, "treated" as possible, for as cheap as possible.

The sound characteristics (or ambience) of a particular environment. For example, the term 'live acoustics" would be used to describe a room in which the sound Wavesreverberate off the walls and ceiling, while "dead acoustics" would describe a room in which the sound Wavesare absorbed by the surroundings.

What's your favorite DK-Technologies monitors?

I have RODE NT1A, M Audio Nova, and other mics and I use Logic Express 8. My acoustics haven't been sounding very good. There is a an echo and reverberation when I record. What could do I do to fix this problem or should I just buy a S.E. Reflection Filter.

I have Old German Baby Grand Piano(in good condition).
Bass player with 3/4 size double bass(standard)
Drummer with 4 piece kit and 4 trad. jazz cymbals (ride, crash, hihats and splash)
