Description
The term ADAT has come to stand for both the original digital tape machines and also for the lightpipe data transmission system. The ADAT lightpipe has become an audio industry standard for digital data transmission between units other than the original ADAT tape machines.

ADAT to computer transition

Can anyone tell me about their transition from ADAT to computer?
Can anyone recommend a good card for getting my ADAT tracks into the computer? I'm looking at the G5's

Did you keep using your ADAT to record with? I would like only to use my ADAT to archive and remix my S-VHS ADAT tapes if possible.

What software are you mixing with?

ADAT - usable?

hi guys. in the great scheme of things to get for my studio, i've come to the conclusion the pro tools rig should come last, as otherwise it'll be obsolete by the time i open. in the mean time i would like to use my imac g4 and 002. not ideal, i know, but i'm hoping with the right mics and pres i can get truely pro results on this setup for my own projects.

anyone know an ADAT mixer?

I have myself an ADAT sound card...
but i have no mixer to go with it...
main objective here is to get 8 channels of sweet drumming onto the computer as 8 seperate tracks of sweet drumming instead of bouncing the tracks down to 1 mono unmixable channel :)

problem is .. i can't find any 8 channel mixers with ADAT on them..
(ARSE!)
anyone know of any

searching for analog-to-ADAT- and ADAT-to-analog-converter

i need more OUTs/INs for my MOTU 828mk II.
so i wanna buy an analog-to-ADAT- and ADAT-to-analog-converter (each 8 channels)!
somebody told me the RME ADI-8 PRO is a good choice. is it?
are there other alternatives? maybe cheaper with the same quality ;-)

THANX in advance for your tips!
