Newbie ADAT Question
I want to transfer my ADAT recorded tapes to my pc. Then I will mix using cakewalk or some other pc based mixing software. I am thinking of using the EMU 1212 which has an ADAT in out card. Will I be able to move the files over and store them on the hard drive? If so what types of files are they saved as? Wave Files?

Burning CD to PLEXTOR Plexwriter from ADAT or Mackie board
Hello. I am interested in burning a stereo master to a PLEXTOR Plexwriter 12/10/32S EXTERNAL SCSI CD-RW CD-RW directly from either two tracks from an ADAT or from the stereo outs of the Mackie board. THis is certainly not for final production, but is rather a hope at getting a quick master while we decide on a mastering console model.
Is this possible?
Recording Live. with ADAT!
So I recently purchased a used ADAT that I was assured is in working condition. I got a great deal on it, so no biggie if it craps out in a year or so. My plan is to use it to record my band's live performances. I've got an ADAT snake with 8 ins and 8 outs (1/4 ').

Alesis - ADAT HD-24 live recording?
hi
I'm interested in live recording, and the first to came to my mind was to buy
a multitrack recorder that can give you the option to record simultaniously at least 20 tracks.
my idea its to record it completely raw and then load it in my home studio trough my preamp and then to the desktop 8 ch at a time.

SPDIF vs. . AES/EBU vs. . ADAT Lightpipe
Which do you prefer for your connections?
Because of the Nyquist Theory and Lightpipe's restriction to 48khz (which really is not a restriction at all), I would think Lightpipe would be the best connection.
Does anyone have definitive information on this?

Can I use an ADAT as a 8 channel A to D converter?
I have a MOTU 828 and an ADAT XT. I am able to record 16 channels at once by using ADAT optical input to the MOTU 828, but only by playing an ADAT tape. I would like to use the ADAT analog inputs and optical output into the 828. I have not been able to find a way to make the ADAT put the 8 analog inputs out the digital output. Seems like if I push the right buttons, this should work.

Cheapest 2x ADAT i/o soundcard
A friend of mine owns a Behringer 3216 with 2x ADAT i/o. What would be the cheapest soundcard to connect it with a PC?
I was thinking of the RME DIGI 9636, which looks unbeatable in this case. Any other suggestions?
