The term ADAT has come to stand for both the original digital tape machines and also for the lightpipe data transmission system. The ADAT lightpipe has become an audio industry standard for digital data transmission between units other than the original ADAT tape machines.

pro tools bounce in ADAT clock source

I need some advice from some of you pro tools users. I recently did a project where i chained up 2 digi002s. i of course changed the clock setting to ADAT. When it comes time to bounce i have some troubles. During the bounce it plays back at the right time. After its done and i import to itunes or windows media player the song is sped up. Any advice on how i can most easily get this right?

How Does ADAT Work?

I'm a newbie and am interested in the MOTU 896HD. When I look at how many inputs it has it says it has 18: 8 analog, 2 AES, and 8 ADAT channels. but the 8 ADAT channels are through one connector. How can that one connector cover 8 channels? If anyone has any info on this or can lead me to a site that explains how ADAT works it would be very helpful. Thanks.

How to set up EMU1820m patchmix for ADAT transfer

Hi!

I plan to simultaniously transfer 16 audio tracks from an analog tape machine into Cubase SX2

My soundcard is an EMU 1820m and I have borrowed an Alesis AI3 ADAT Analog - Optical Interface.

The thing is, the patchmixer of the soundcard drives me nuts. It's not very intuitive (so please, don't say "read the * manual" because it's sh*t)
