I love nuendo and I would prefer to stay with it. I currently have MOTU interfaces but what would be an upgrade? what's in between the motu, maudio, etc and pro tool HD?

I have an echo Indigo I/O that I use when it's not practical to drag all of my equipment with me.

While it's on a different planet from standard laptop sound, I was wondering if there was a better quality alternative. This card has received rave reviews, but I'm not too impressed by the sound.

sorry for doing this to you guys. i know there are tons of posts on pre's but i need something specific for me before i go to the u.s. tomorrow and buy something that will leave me unsatisfied and with no money. any help is greatly appreciated.

Since I come from mainly an r&b/hip hop recording background I'd like to know what the process is of recording a rock or alternative group/band.. ? What's a typical session like? Which instruments are recorded first? Typically inthe sessions I assist in I see the producer sit down at an MPC and a keyboard with various sound modules and get a tune going.

anything out there that can take sd2 split files and put id's isrc and dither on them?

Kurt, if the devil were to burn all the NS10's on the globe what monitors would you use? And would they translate well?

I've been interested, for a while in setting up a daw based on Linux, but has Linux audio software development, yet, come to the point where it's a viable alternative for professional use?.

Has anyone heard of any companies ie..Magix, Steinberg..etc, planning on porting their software to linux?
