having trouble getting tight bass in my recordings
Great! A newbie mastering forum where I won't look so dumb!
I'm having trouble getting tight bass in my recordings. Many of you have heard my recordings...is the bass floppy on your playback system or is it just my room/speakers? What can I do to manage the bass in my recordings?
Thanks so much!

Using a guitar/bass amp head to record
I'm wondering if using a guitar or bass amp head would make a big difference when recording to my audio interface instead of plugging straight in. Plugging straight in sounds completely whack.

Bass Traps
I read and hear a lot about 'bass traps'. Any of you knowledgeable people would like to explain what they are, what they do and if you are wanting to trap bass, what is it you are trying to prevent it from doing? Escaping or reflecting?
And I suppose I should ask, what happens to the bass when there are no traps to trap it?

Recording bass
Hi. I was wondering if anyone new how to get that crisp smooth sound out of the bass when I record... I've got a few condenser mics and a few dynamic mics. Is there a general area of the speaker I should mic with certain mics? I'm just not getting the right sound. I know it's not much info. But could y'all help me anyway? Hoe do you record bass? Thanks and God Bless!

Problem with my bass sounds.
Hi, whenever I play any tunes from my wharfedale monitors the bass is greatly increased when panned hard right or hard left. I'm wondering how them playing together could reduce the bass, and how to prevent this issue, thank you. (I am a bass fanatic)

need help Micing upright bass in a live room.
I'm having trouble getting a natural sound for an Upright Bass (contrabass) in a live room with drums. I've been Micing the bass and distancing the player from the drums by 10 - 15 feet, i'm not an isolation junky so I don't mind getting the tracks a little messy.
