M-Audio 2496 Behringer mixer Behringer 3021a

I've just put together some recording equipment and was wondering a little about this. The M-Audio 2496 soundcard has RCA jacks, should I run rca cables from those jacks to the tape in on my Behringer mixer or should I user converters to go from rca to line inputs or XLR or something like that? I'm running from the mixer to the 3021a's. thanks for any help.

Mackie 1402-VLZ or Behringer 1604a for monitoring?

I'm getting a digi002 rack system to do some demo recordings. Someone suggested I get a 1402-VLZ on the cheap for monitoring. These go for around $250, but money is tight. The Behringer seems similarly featured, and since the preamps (which I assume to be the main difference) are not important, can I just go for the Behringer?

Also, what is a good headphone amp system?

Recommend a good quality patchbay? Would the Behringer

I'm in the need for a 1 rack space 24-48 point patchbay.

My only requirements are that it is:

1) manually switchable (on the front or top of the unit) between normalled, half-normalled, open and parallel.

(would rather not have to open the unit up and solder if I don't have to)

2) 1 rack space.

3) As high quality as my budget can allow.

Somebody Help Me Before I Behringer...

I need a cheap simple rackmount mixer for say... 6 to 12 stereo pairs (12 to 24 channels total). I don't need lotsa aux sends, I don't need lotsa EQ, just clean and not a lot of rack real estate.

I am going to use this in my studio, but not for my recording signal path, just my quick and dirty hear-everything-at-once device.
