Yeah I'm recording onto my comp and i keep getting this static-like pops and buzzes.

Hey. I Just set up my first daw.

I have a Hercules Firwire interface. Im using a pair of Fostex monitors.

When the Firewire cord from the interface touches the metal around the input on my laptop its starts buzzing and does so when it is in all the way.

Tonight it was very loud. I would say it was about a 500-600 Hz buzz/hum, at about -30db or so.

My speaker cables are Monster Prolink performer 500's. and when I switched outputs from my 828 it switched sides. Is it possible there is a prolem with the 828 MKII?

Ideas, thoughts?

I'm having a bit of a problem with my mixer and recording. my mixer outputs from the balanced XLR output and into my computers microphone jack. when i record, theres a a constant electric buzzing sound in my track. my phantom power is on.. and suggestions to eliminate this unwanted sound?

What's up peeps?

I've recorded our lead singer several times over the last month, trying to eliminate a "buzzing" sound. The buzz is only present when the track is exported to a wav file, then dropped on a CD for playback. I've recorded other voices and they don't "buzz" when dropped to a CD. I've tried adjusting the gain, different mics, different effects & settings, no effects. nothing helps.

This sucks, i got this cr 1604 like i was saying, and i get it out of the box, it seems to work after i buy the power cord. Plugin the headphones cuz it was kind of late, and toy around with it. It seems like its in good enough shape. The problem is i dont have any monitors at the moment due to an electrical fire in my friends garage.

CAUTION: An extreme newbie.
