Someone is offering to sell me a Big by Langley mixing console for a very low price. However, I do not know very much about the desk. I have been unable to locate a user manual, or any instructive info for it. A few questions:
1. Can the desk be used as an analog desk without the "Supertrue" automation software?
2. Can the desk be used without any software at all?

I've tried searching the forums for discussion on the m-400, but couldn't seem to find anything. Anyone have opinions about this vs the Yamaha? The digital snake and lower price point make it look pretty attractive...

I recently purchased a SoundCraft Spirit M4 off of ebay so that I might simultaneously monitor my computer audio (M-Audio Delta 1010) and a digital piano (Kawai MP8) with a pair of Sennheiser HD595's.

I was thinking about making my next interface something like the M-audio project mix console but wanted to get some input from others.
Would I be able to mic a whole kit and record it into Sonar or Pro Tools with this?
Would I have problems mixing more than 8 tracks with this?
Recording vocals and guitars with this?

I'm building a mini studio and I was having some doubts about what want to do in it. I'm very noob in this so maybe the question is stupid. :oops:

Well after much research and seeing what's out there in the used console market according to our budget, we have decided to build another small studio and to purchase a new (used) board for our 'A' room.

I currently am using a Soundcraft 2400 with a PTHD3 rig for summing and mixdown. In the back I have a Soundcraft 6000 which I was going to upgrade. Now my engineer is telling me that if I really want to attract new clientele, I should have a name brand console (Neve or SSL).

Anyone using this console for live tv production? Anyone using this for anything? I'm looking for opinions and/or insight to this console.

did the sunset sound studio in actuality use the bill putnam 610? on their website it says it was a langevin (am-4 i assume.)

i know there are a couple of other historic tube consoles that were used around this time, i think altec is one, obviously ampex. helios? MCI? what are the model names for these big dogs?
