Another boring mic channel strip question!
Forums
Hello there,
I'm sure you've all read the same post about 200 times by 200 other people, but just wondering if anyone can help me out. I've scouted the forums and have read many posts but none that have made my mind any clearer!

Joemeek VC2 or VC1
Forums
Which one should I buy? I like both but can only afford one of them. Any sugestions? Is one better than the other? I will be using them on everything from vocals to instruments.
I have another question: Is the Joemeek SC2.2 as good as the SC2?
Thanks!

THORAX
Forums
I just wanted to tell everyone that my THORAX is here and how awesome it is. It seemed like I could do no wrong with any signal I put through it. The preamp section has all that vmp color and more. It even seems that the clean settings seem cleaner than the vmp altough, that could be my imagination... The eq section is further expanded and has a "canine" setting that I love.

Thorax question
Forums
Posted this in another thread, but it got missed.. so here it is again!
Can each section of the Thorax be accessed separately, ala the Origin and Quartet? Can a pair of Thorax (Thoraxes.. Thoraxi?) be connected to use the compressors as a stereo pair?
Also - can the EQ be swapped to go after the compressor.
Thanks!

Channel Strip or Just Pre-amp?
Forums
I'm looking for my first really nice mic preamp and wondering if I should go with a channel strip with compressor and EQ, or just get the best stand-alone preamp I can afford. I don't have outboard EQ's or compressors to use, but generally don't record with much EQ or compression anyway. If I bought something like a 737, I might end up never using the EQ.

Waveseq vs hardware channel strips
Forums
What do you guys think about Waves Renaissance eq instead of hardware eq. while tracking?
There are great units out there like the Vintech or Chandler types that are pre-amp and eq section, but are significantly more expensive than their pre-amp only versions.

Sebatron or UA-6176...
Forums
Moving closer to purchase, seriously looking at the UA6176. I do Gospel, Urban, Hip hop , Rap, etc. I currently have a Focusrite ISA428 as my frontend. Looking at the UA to augment the ISA (offer color options). I've heard it and liked the way it brought out my SP C-1 mic(also looking to add a SoundeluxU-195 and a AT4060).

Help me choose Focusrite Red 7 / UA 6176 ?
Forums
I'm still toiling over what "all in one" unit to get. I've narrowed it down to two, but if you have any other great suggestions feel free to throw them in.

UA 6176
Forums
I'm looking at the 6176 and find it a great idea that you can seperate the compressor and use it with other mic preamps. Are there any other high end "Combo" / "Channel strip" type units out there that can seperate the compressor?
