Cheapest place for empirical labs?

I'm going to be buying 2 distressors and a FATSO in the next week or two. The dealer I normally buy stuff from doesnt carry empirical labs but told me he could sell me a pair of trakkers for $3400. I've never heard the trakkers, so that worries me a little (even though I've heard they're amazing). Either way, anyone know of any place selling this stuff for cheap...

New dirt-cheap tube mic from Marshall: MXL V69

Some of you might have noticed Marshall had a newer mic out not long ago named the MXL V69, a tube mic listing at $399 and being sold by some for under $300. The official Marshall web site had some incredible (literally) specs for the thing, include single digit self noise. Such incredulity was bluntly expressed on RAP not long ago.

Good CHEAP mics

I have been getting a lot of questions from readers of a sound advice column I write about getting their first P.A. system. I always suggest they buy SM57/58 mics since I really feel for the bucks they can't be beat but I'm getting questions about mics like the Behringer XS2000 which can be had for $20 each and the Samson R21 mics.

Cheap mic solutions

Hi all. First off, this forum rocks, and I'm adding to my newbie knowledge with every thread I read.

I'm learning to use Cubase VST on my mac at home. I currently have a cheapo desktop mic that I'm using while I practice using vst instruments and some audio snippets to create loop based music.

[Whoops, somehow my post was truncated. I'll add my question below.]
