Hey everyone...I was wondering if anyone can recommend on a good mixer for my home studio...upuntill now I was working with a Mackie 1604 but it brokedown and its to expensive to fix it...

How important is a power regulator/power conditioner/EMI/RFI filter in a studio? Have anyone wrestled with power issues of it intruding into the mix?

I'm selling off most of my gear and upgrading. I'm not sure what path to take though.

I recorded a guitar line directly from my acoustic's LR Baggs pickup. In the mix I've applied compression, Amplitube for distortion, and EQ. The song as a whole has not been the most spectacular mix, but it's getting there and I like the way the guitar fits in as it is. Unfortunately, there's this low end "wooshing" that happens every time I fret on for the second and third notes of each bar.

I found a tool that seems like it would be great for doing a super clean install of Windows XP.

It lets you customize the installation to install ONLY what you want it to. You can eliminate all the crap parts of windows that you don't need

Hey i'm new here.. just needed to ask a question.. i am creating a lot of music myself... mostly alternative rockmetal.. but a friend of mine wants me to create some hip hop beats for him.. and i've made some that he likes alot.. but i have problems with getting the bassdrum sound tight and hard.. it always has to much bass or to little bass..

I just did a clean install on my DAW 2 weeks ago(my HDD crashed when I knocked over my computer :roll: ) Everything works OK again. (I replaced the HDD)

Now: I've decided to upgrade my system. I'm replacing my AMD Athlon 2600+ with a AMD 64 3500+ on an Asus A8V mobo.

It's an age-old topic, but I wanted to consult the people that read this thread. I have a lot of respect for you because of your courtesy, your discerning ears, and your preference for clean sounds.

I would love to be in the market for a preamp, but that requires money. However, I would like to purchase a very nice preamp or two after I finish my current album projects.
