I just found 3 mics in my closet...are they worth anything?

Not in a monetary sense, more of a quality sense. I just found them and remembered that they were given to me a looooong time ago (long enough that I've forgotten) by my brother. He got them in some weird/shady trade or something.

None the less, nothing of the online research has been favorable so far, so I thought I'd ask about them here.

They are:

Equipment closet temperature.

My equipment closet is running anywhere between 80-85F . There is an HD3 rig with expansion chasis, sync I/O, 192 I/O, 4 fire wire drives, a Mojo, G5, DA88, DS-M7.1, and a vhs deck. Is this an acceptable temp range, or am I cooking my equipment? There is an air conditioning vent in there( the whole unit is in there) but not a seperate thermostat for it.

What's my PreAmp closet missing?

like last time with the mic closet, the Alice, Kel HM-1 and lawson L47mp all compliment my collection wonderfully! (i'm never gonna give in and get a Neumann), now only a Royer and an RCA are missing.

so back to the Mic Pre's

I use a Soundcraft Ghost (into MOTU 896 & Alesis AI-3 [AD is my next fixup after the pre's]) but when i need some extra flavour i turn to these:

Mic Lockers/Cabinets/Closets etc.

This might sound like a strange question, but I hear a lot about mic cabinets, or lockers, or closets...

How do all of you like to store your mics? Is "locker" just an over-all term used in an allegorical way? Or do you actually have a locker/cabinet/closet dedicated to locking up your mics?

Again, how do ya'll store and care for your mics?

Thanks!

Mic closet being (modestly) upgraded - wee bit of help appr.

Current set:

RODE K2
SP C4 set
2 x KEL HM-1s
tons of SM57s and 58s
D112

Based on this I'd like to get an ATM4033 or a Groove Tubes GT44 to use on guitar cabs, vocals etc. And also for snare, but I don't think thats a good choice even when considering it - I just don't have a semipro snare mic yet.

Mic closet recommendations

Here's a list that I decided to compile that may help those of you who are asking what are the "studio standards" when it comes to mics. These are the ones I think are a a bare minimum requirement, the "must have" to run a respectable project or professional studio. The up side is this is a complete "wish list" which should serve almost any pop production house.

Guitar amp iso closet plans?

I have a back room in my studio that is used as a gear docking area or back the van into etc to unload gear. the walls around it are sound proofed. I want to use it to put another guitar cab in. I was thinking of just making a closet with 8" insulation on the top, 2 sides and bottom and just pointing the amp into it. Will this work or should I build a whole iso cab?
