hi i am getting a Crate CSX8 Analog mixing board. I am going to hook it up to my COMPAQ with Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and a standard soundcard.

How's this for a music dedicated PC..

I have a stand-alone recorder that can make so-called "hi-rez" files (8ch of 24b/96kHz) and it has an onboard mixer that can generate a stereo 24/96 mix. But I obviously can't send that mix to my DAT deck or audio CD recorder.

I have just started to have a MAJOR lock up and stutter problem! the entire system freezes and the play back stutters. I then need to restart the entire computer. it will sometimes just lock on boot up of Nuendo. is this a hard drive problem??? I am using nuendo 2.2.0 with XP Pro but I don't think I have service pack 1 installed for XP. this is a new problem that has come up.

Ok, I built a computer for audio about a month ago. Came together quickly (my first time at doing this) and without any difficulty. Been working like a charm ever since. I have 2 problems, one serious, the other a minor inconvenience.
