Hi all! This is an incredible website, and I feel lucky to have found it. I've been lurking around on and off for a few months, reading dozens of threads, and trying to learn what I can. I've read more "Here's my situation and what mic setup should I use?" questions than anything else, because that's my question too. But I need help, and so it's time for me to post.

I record a podcast and I recently got the Behringer xenyx x1222usb to record myself and some friends. I plug the board into my PC, using Adobe Audition.

Yesterday, my computer's cooling fan started kicking into high ever few minutes or so.
This is the cooling fan on the bottom of the tower, not the intake fan over the power supply

It did this without any warning or symptoms...

My recording computer is a quad-core i7 iMac that I bought just over 3 years ago, the day that the 2011 refresh was released in early summer 2011. It has 8gigs of ram and purely solid state hard drive.

I've not been able to play in a few years with any recording due to loss of my sweet baby PC that handled everything beautifully. I bought her at a steal. She not only handled my software and interface (I had the M-audio fast track with both the Pro Tools program that game with it and Audacity), but it handled all my graphics programs I used to for photo taking and scrapbooking.

Hello, I have a Blue Yeti Microphone with a pop filter, a boom arm stand, and it still picks up background noise. I can hear the fans roaring decently in my recordings. Please help!
