I am primarily a musician, however I have been running a "Rock Band" after school program which is a lot of fun. I have a lot of experience with Garageband and I know this doesn't get much credit as a program, but I did a lot of recording on it with my friend in the past and I had results I was happy to listen to and continue to enjoy listening to.

Hi I am new to this amazing site! And I came here in hopes of having my problem addressed! I will first address my equipment. I am working with a RODE microphone which is plugged into a scarlett 2i2 (Focusrite audio interface) of which is plugged into my laptop (dell with windows 7 operating system) the DAW I am using is Ableton Live Lite v8.

I am wanting to upgrade my computer. As far as my needs, I record one to two tracks at a time. Most songs have around 16 total tracks. 8-12 of those tracks would be VSTi plugs and I use a normal amount effects plugs. My budget is $1200.

Hi guys, So I'm not new to music, but pretty new to home recording. I got myself an ART Pro Dual Pre USB Interface so that I could record vocals and guitar at the same time, but as different tracks. But when I hook it up to my laptop and record using the Edison recorder in Fruity Loops 8 it records it as one track.

I definitely need a new computer, as the one I have right now is crappy. My budget is $2000, and just give PC recommendations, as I pretty much sick of Macs right now.

I'm going to build a computer dedicated for recording, what should be minimum specs?

I'm having some problems...I use a hercules 16/12FW interface and my computer is a old amd 2800+ with 2 gb of ram. It's having a hard time working with 48channels and vst:s, so I figured I'd upgrade it.

Just a quick question (I hope :rolleyes:): For a DAW is it then preferred to use a 32 or a 64 bit system? I'm considering Samplitude as a recording software (but not only this software), will use win7, and need a quite fast machine that is also future proof (to the extent possible) ...

I want to use my aw1600 to record directly onto my adobe audition on my pc. Is there any way i can connect my pc to my machine so that each track i want to record goes through the aw1600 first and then directly onto my computer. Basically i'm wondering if the computer can be used to control the aw1600.
