Quick question on the Sm 57. I read and hear its good for recording instruments/amps.

I was checking ebay and I saw on one of the boxes of of the sm 57..and it say "SM57-LC". I couldn't find any infomation it. So is there really 2 models of the sm57, or Im I just crazy.

Also, does anyone have any sugestions for a condensor mic under the 200$ price limit.

i am considering buying a matched pair of Neumann 18x microphones and i looking for opinions and/or recommendations on which set to get. i'm going to be using them for drum overheads, stereo program recording (live bands, concerts, stage productions) and for instrument recording like guitar, violin, woodwinds, perecussion, etc.

I'm trying to find some info on a groove tubes 5sm condenser mic. I'm picking up a lot of mics from a guy who closed down his studio and this mic is in the batch. i'm not familier with it at all and have know idea what it is worth. I set up all 9 mics and recorded some guitar. Haven't got to sit down and listen to it yet.

What are some good low-cost (

scream/yell into a condenser mic? I recall reading somewhere not to do that. True or not? If so, what if I stand back a bit?

I currently own a SM57 mic which i record my vocals with into Pro Tools...and I'm considering purchasing a AT 40/50 microphone...i dont have a booth..or padding...in fact the room i record in is about the size of an average bedroom but without a closet...with my SM57 it normally didnt pick up to much of the room and my vocals usually came out sounding decent...but I'm seeking the vocal transpar
