Converters again...
sorry, -I know its kind of an old hat already but I`m still not Shure about these RME converters
are they really cool? (means better or equal to 888)
I`ve got a Rosetta (trough ADAT Bridge PT and Clock of Rosetta) I use on vocals and a lot of other stuff but now a need something for drums (more channels) and I used some 888 (not mine) till now - they are not great but o.k

Are a/d converters overated
I see a lot of posts from folks who hate the stock Pro Tools converters. I've seen Pro Tools used in our C room for years without anyone bringing in any converters or anything. Most just go from SSL through some vintage comps or 2" right into Pro Tools w/ (3) 888/24. They keep it on PT and mix w/ direct outs to the SSL to 1/2". Sounds great.

dCS AD Converters
Anyone with experience of dCS converters? They often come tops in opinion polls. Is it the sound quality, build, versatility or a combination of these attributes? Looking more into the technicalities the internal program with flash- memory can be easily updated over the web making them fairly future proof. Opinions welcomed.

L2 or PSX-100 A/D converters?
Has anyone compared the A/D section of the L2 against the A/D section of the PSX-100, if so, which is better?
Please, just the two mentioned!
Thanks in advance.
Ozzie

Pre's & Converters in Banks of 8.
For the sake of debate, I know it starts with tuning, player, placement, etc. The focus of this thread is 100% drums in banks of 8. Budget is negotiable, but lets assume you have $10,000 total. Do you keep some money, or spend it?

Kronauer Converters
Hi,
I wonder if anyone ever checked any ofg the Kronauer AD/DA Converters. 16 channels 24/48 of them sell for about 1000$ which is prttey darn cheap, but how do they sound?
Thanks for your input,
UTS

Euphonix converters
Hi all,
Just wanted to get some opinions of Euphonix users about those 24/96 converters, especially the ADC-to-MADI version...how do they cut soundwise in comparaison to Apogee's or RME-ADI-96?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
Benoit

Are D/A Converters worthwhile?
Im just starting to acquire some high-end gear in my Project Studio. Im slowly weeding out the names like Alesis and Mackie, and Replacing them with names like Pro-tools and Focustrite. . Anyways. One thing Im not sure of is my D/A Converters. At the moment Im running Pro-tools Le (the digi 001) set up. If I buy a stand alone D/A converter, will I notice a different.
