I would like to know which 2 input soundcard you would recommend or consider to be the best A/D converters. I want to buy something to get nice clean results.

Hello, does anyone have an opinion as to the difference in sound quality with the original 2408, 2408MKII or MKIII models? I own the original and want to add another for 16 channels. The originals are going for aprox $150 while the newer models are $300 and $800. Is it worth the extra cost or should I maybe even look into different converters all together.

hi there, it seems that both benchmark and mytek are bringing out stereo a/d converters at the same time soon .Any info on price availability and comparisons greatly appreciated.I know the Mytek has the same specs as their 8 channel a/d converters and i,m sure both will be of excellent quality.julian

Hello. I'm looking for an 8channel A/D converter to go into my 2408mk2. I'm not happy with the 2408's converters. I also plan on getting a word clock generator. I've considered the RME and Swissonic boxes, as well as more expensive 2 channel boxes like the Lucid and Apogee. Any thoughts on how the sound quality of these differs?

Just upgraded my converters and stuff and had a couple questions:

I managed to get a used Lucid ADA8824 and Genx6 for an amazing price, and picked up an RME Digiface to use along with it-I've never used lightpipe/toslink stuff but understand how it all works fine.

I've got another album project(i mostly do post work) coming up in a couple months and I'm not going into it with this friggin delta1010 I have...still can't reliably record 24 bit, let alone higher sample rates. And I've switched MOBO's twice...time to get rid of it.

What audible difference is heard with quality A/D converters over the ones in the XT20?
Are there other reasons one would want to go with external converters in conjunction with an Alesis XT20?

What would be a good choice for converters to use with the XT20?
