So this is more of a poll than a question I assume. But lately, my RME converters have been acting funny (I think the clock may be going- or bad optical cabling...not sure yet) so I've just been using my DIGI002r.

I dont need these huge interfaces with 20 inputs. I just want something with at least two in two out. firewire.

and with converters that are stellar quality.

anything out there?

I am considering the purchase of a Grace Lunatec V3 two channel preamp with A/D converter. I am currently using a Demeter preamp and the Grace would be a very different beast. I am using a TC Gold Channel (which I got for a great price) as my AD converter (24 bits, 48 Khz) and going to an M-box.

Here's my situation:

IM USING AN AUDIOPHILE 2496/M-AUDIO...OK MY GOAL IS TO GET RID OF MY ANALOG MIXERS AND GO STRAIGHT INTO THE INTERFACE, MY CURRENT INTERFACE HAS NO XLR CONNECTORS. . I LIKE MY OUTBOARD PRE'S AND DON'T NEED A CONVERTER WITH PRE'S...i JUST NEED A REAL GOOD INTERFACE WITH XLR'S AND 1/4'S AND RCA'S.

Experienced knowledge would be highly appreciated. Which converter company would you use for 16 I/O upgrade-able to 24, 36 etc that utilises analog I/O ? And which model ?

Hi, i want to know the real quality of the isa 428 converters, with which other converters could it be compared to? Are they similar or better than the Digidesign Hd Series? Please if anyone of you have used it let me know your opinion.

I'm assumeing that they would be a lot better then the stock converters in an 002..

Am i right ?
and how do they rate compare to the real top end stuff?
I read an article where they compared it to an Apogee 8000.

I hear great final mix (analog) but when I record that thru RME converters (Multiface) it doesn't sound that good anymore.

I recorded in 24bit resolution, 44.1.
Details are lost, highs are muddy, bass not tight. Something is wrong. OK, it is not SO wrong (most people probably would not notice it) but I do and it bothers me.
