Converters I/O

Hello All,

I am looking to purchase a good converter. I like the Prismsound converters. However, they are double or more than the Apogee Rosetta 800 or the Lynx converters. I have been told the Rosetta is lots better than the Ensemble. I am not concerned with pre's. I am running a liquid channel for the pre's.

Apogee Ensemble Converters compared to Rosetta 800

Hey Fellow Audio Geeks!

Thought some of you may be interested in the comparison of Apogees' new Ensemble to the Rosetta.

I A/B's the two with the same track using Digital Performer sending the two tracks one to the Ensemble and one to the Rosetta. I used Mutt Langs' mix of his wife's song 'She's Not Just a Pretty Face'.

Using external converters w/S/PDIF or aes/ebu to soundcard

Hi all!

I'm sorta a noobie to digital recording, and I need some advice on some new equipment. I'm going to expand my analog studio to digital. Now I'm wondering what I need to look for when purchasing some sort of soundcard. I'd like to use Pro Tools (does it matter if it's LE or M-powered?), but I have Logic Pro for now.

Understanding A/D converters along with Mic Pre

I'm on my continual journey to get the best home recording environment (I can afford) and was talking with another friend (session percussionist) about gear.

The subject of quality mic preamp's came up (which I understand for the most part) but then along with it he said that a good sound was dependent on A/D Converters (Analog to Digital).
