What is the best way to set up drum mics during pre production?

Mainly, what order to set them up in?

Hi I'm in the UK and want to spend under £1000 on some new monitors for d'n'b.

i have a question regarding using a drum program on a mac as a standalone and running it into a standalone daw, such as a boss 1200. i have tried in vain for some time now to use Cubase to no avail, and have since decided go the boss daw recording route..computer recording is not my thing. now I'm wondering can i run battery 3 (drum program) and my midi controller as a standalone into a daw?

Can anyone explain to me what each of the following will do to the sound?

Is it a good idea to use mic clips on drums for the recording?



I think i will go with Audix D-vice, but take a look at these ones... they are kind of cheap.

i am looking for mics to mic a drum kit for a really good recording. we play punkish/scremo/alternative and the drummer hits hard, our buget is about 1.5 thousand. can anyone help me out?

Alright guys ive been reading these forums for maybe 2 yrs to gain advice which i have used. Im not recording from home in a room with the dimensions as follows 12 X 16 X 8 ft now I'm gonna be recording scratch guitar and drums on friday. Im wanting to get the best drum sound possible with this room. Any suggestions?
