Description
A digital audio workstation (DAW) is an electronic device or application software used for recording, editing and producing audio files. DAWs come in a wide variety of configurations from a single software program on a laptop, to an integrated stand-alone unit, all the way to a highly complex configuration of numerous components controlled by a central computer. Regardless of configuration, modern DAWs have a central interface that allows the user to alter and mix multiple recordings and tracks into a final produced piece.

SSD as main HD make differerence in DAW>?

Hi I'm using Cubase and velociraptor as current main HD, and want to know if worth the upgrade. I'm most concerned about loading times of projects, since I'm constantly switching between projects and have to wait couple minutes for them to load due to massive amounts of vst instruments n effects i use. Will an ssd make a difference in project loading times? thnks

Universal Audio LA-610 MkII Classic Tube Recording Channel with DAW...

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing The Universal Audio LA-610 MkII Classic Tube Recording Channel for my little studio. I record with a macbook, TC electronics Impact twin interface, and Powercore X8 for extra juice.
God willing I will be also purchasing The AKG Perception 820 Tube Studio Condenser Microphone.

Seeking Advice on Drums to Tape, Then Back to DAW Workflow with Multiple PCs

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here. I'm no stranger to amateur home recording, but I finally have 10 or so songs recently written with voice and acoustic guitar that I'll be arranging/adding instrumentation to via my home setup this coming year. Here is my gear list:

Daw software that fits my requirements NOT A NOOB QUESTION

Hi there, I'm consulting for another person's setup. I'm having a little bit of a hard time finding something that will work for them (i'm not charging money or anything, more of doing it as a friend, so don't just make fun of me for not knowing what to look for, haha). Long story short, I use a mac setup, and use mac only software, Now my buddy uses a windows 7 pc with an m-audio 2626.

Which DAW to choose? I'm confused.

Ok, so I'm a newbie here who is very very wet behind the ears and could use some guidance. I currently own a small A/V design firm and do very well. I typically design commercial 70v audio systems and do a lot of video designs for everything from basic tv setups for bars and restaurants to high end tele-conferencing systems for corporations.
