:w: I've got a question that i need help on for all you Cubase SX users. I've been using Sonar XL 2.0 for a while now and want to get away from cakewalk so I finally got a copy of Cubase SX.

Check it out folks, it's hilarious and it's free! I started playing with it and could not stop for an hour. The kids love it too.

I would like to use samples for kick and snare, but
I haven't found a system that would satisfy me.
I would like to trigger kicks and snares to midi sequencer software and then play it back in sync.
Most of the time the seq would be slave to analog 24 track.

I'm running a Pro Tools Mix 24 Plus system thru a pair of Apogee AD8000SEs and have been using an 02R just for monitoring. I've just reconfigured the system by adding ADAT Lightpipe cards to each Apogee and bringing 16 digital channels back into the tape inputs of the 02R via ADAT cards.

I noticed in a recent thread that our erstwhile co-moderator Julien said he'd caluclated the delay compensation factor for his Apogee AD8000SE's at 19 samples. Just last week I asked Apogee what they recommend, since there's nothing in the manual; their tech support says 67 samples from "analog input to digital output" and 114 samples "from analog input to analog output."

I`ve got a TDM mix system and was wondering whats the best way to deal with the delays you get in a mix on pro-tools (about 4 to 50 ms I think)
Do I have to use TimeAdjuster or not? What about drums, having different plugins on different tracks?

simple question: how do you calculate specific delay times when the song isn't cut to a click? or if it is for that matter!

I'd love to hear what people are doing with delays in their mixes.

Personally, I use a lot of slap, and rhythmic values like 8th notes, quarter notes, and half notes. I'm very interested to hear about 'magic delay times' that work well no matter what the tempo is. I think a slap around 124 ms is like that. Other examples?
