Recording Drums HELP
Riley, thx for moving the post.
Does the Mackie you speak of have inserts or direct outs on each input channel?

Recording Drums HELP
Hey guys. I recently got a new drum set, its OCDP. I've been playing drums for about 10 years now and i'm 16. I am interested in recording my drums. I want to put mics on all my drums including hi-hat and i'm gonna use 2 overheads...that puts me at 7 mics. Now... i have been looking into various audio interfaces but i really have no clue what i'm doing.

Mixing MIDI drums: clipping/distortion.
I'm currently working on a music project in Garageband [yes, not the best DAW, but I'm comfortable with it, and I can't afford high-end DAWs]; while I think I'm able to mix most audio fairly well, I'm still having trouble with drum mixing. I'm using Addictive Drums for the drum input; while I'm able to "record" the MIDI tracks the way I want, I'm having trouble mixing them.

EZdrummer? KitCore? Superior Drummer? Addictive Drums? Agh..
So what's the best? Seriously, I need some top of the line sounding drum samples for my recording setup. I've been trying out EZdrummer and the Drumkit From Hell.. It's good, but not quite as good as I want. I hear Superior Drums is just as good as a real drummer, but I need some verification before I go for something in that price.
So what's your opinion on Drum Samples?

Drums on the (relatively) Cheap
With the continuing interest in minimal mic techniques for recording a drumkit, I thought I would demonstrate my technique.
What it sounds like
http://members.toast.net/dwyss/HowTo/DrumDemo.wav
You will have to forgive the playing, its terrible.

Number of inputs needed to mic drums?
Hi, I'm new to this forum and audio recording in general. I'm looking to get set up with the basic equipment for my birth into the realm of audio recording and had a question about Micing drums.

Recording drums on saturday need some help
Hey all so I need your help on something. I have the option of A: using some kind of overhead technique and a mic on the ride and hh or B: Close Micing all cymbals/ride/hh. The style of music is modern punk/emo stuff. The room is not treated but I do have some rockwool wrapped in fabric propped up around the set. I need a wide stereo spread.
