when to mic drums?
anyone who remembers my post from a few weeks ago about recording drums may recall that I'm in a band and our drummer LOVES drum mics.
He has a huge set, but his playing isn't super loud (hes not smashing the heads, just hitting them)

Question on trigger samples with drums
Hey guys,
Was wondering if any one knows of a decent tutorial I can take a read up on about how to make samples trigger upon and event from input of an instrument such as electric drum kit in Nuendo or Cubase?
Hope you can help, google didn't find much on it, although I don't know the correct term for what I am looking for which could be why.

Stevie Wonder uses the Mu-Tron Pedal on drums. But How?
Stevie Wonder recorded many of his parts through a Mu-Tron which sound like an automated wah. I noticed that there are two tracks on "Songs in the Key of Life" where the drums are being put through a mu-tron on the toms and snare. ("All Day Sucker" and "Black Man")
Drums in a . the only room available
Does anyone have any general tips on what is the basis of a good drum room for a loud as . . drummer?
forever and longer ive only had the displeasure of having one m audio nova to hang above the drum kit and run it thru a PreSonus tube pre, thus my drum recordings cost 200$ (minus the kit..).

Stands, clips, clamps for Micing drums.
I'm getting tired of several of my cheap/makeshift stands - particularly those I'm using for Micing drums. I have good stands for overheads and vocal mics, but most of the stands for getting into hard to reach places and old cheap stands that I've hacksawed and jerry-rigged. Time to buy something good and sturdy.

Recording Drums with Pro Tools Digi 003
Hi,
I'm just looking for advice on how to set up recording for a drum kit through the Digi 003 rack. I've only ever recorded two tracks at once through the Digi 003 so need a bit of advice about recording a whole kit.

difference between drums from hell expansion and superior
i have superior and it sounds really raw and its almost impossible for me to try to get the metal drum sounds ive heard out of many clips online. I noticed that there is the ez drummer as well as the drums from hell expansion pack that seems to be processed drums as that advertise. Would this maybe be the clips ive heard online.
