Earthworks
I was curious if any of you can please set me straight on the Earthworks preamps '.
Right off the bat I noticed how simular the faceplate is, to the Great River stuff.

Who (you guys) owns what by Earthworks? I am looking at getting the omni drum kit system.
I really like what I've heard about them (talk wise and sound wise)
They sound jaw dropping to me.

Earthworks Kickpad
Anybody use or own one of these babies? I got a catalog from Full Compass that had an ad for a "Kickpad" made by Earthworks. I also had a free demo disc of this little guy, mailed to me from Earthworks. It sounds AWESOME on the demo!
But I wanted to know if anybody has anything to add about it.

Earthworks Drumkit System
Anyone have any experience with this (the recording version)? I know Earthworks makes some sweet mics, but only 3 mics to record a great drum kit? Sounds a little strange.

Earthworks mics and preamp
Hi all,
I'm curious about these mics. I don't think I've ever seen one mentioned here regarding a mic strategy. As a previous inhabitant of the outside world, I was initially surprised not to see them mentioned more often -although I had since forgotten that they existed -I really should get out more often! I'm especially curious about the preamp.
Thanks
John

Any Josephson C42 or Earthworks TC 30k/SRO users out there?
Time to upgrade the old Oktava MK012's. Use: drum overheads and acoustic gtr mostly. I'm using them mostly to capture cymbals and the voice of the snare and toms. I always mic the toms, kick, snare etc so I don't need lots of low end in my overheads. Price range around $1000 + or - a few hundred bucks.
Here's what I know of
OT-FS: Earthworks SR-71 matched pair
Excellent condition!

Question about Earthworks mics
I heard that Earthworks use cheap Panasonic electret capsules in their mics and then add very good preamps. Is that true?

Earthworks m30 for recording acoustic?
I know these are primarily meant for measurements and stuff but surely if its a dead flat, accurate mic then its a dead flat, accurate mic and should be really good for stuff like acoustic guitar? I'm not too knowledgeable about such stuff so if anyone has any reasons why this is a bad idea please enlighten me
Cheers,
Ian.

New Earthworks QTC30 microphones
Hi Gang,
I was at the Earthworks factory here in New Hampshire today and I walked out with a pair of the new QTC30 microphones.
These are very small diaphragm omnidirectional microphones with outstandningly flat response. The QTC30 is 5 dB quieter than the M30 or TC30k and has a 30kHz BW (+/- 1dB) vs. the 40kHz BW of the flagship QTC1 mics.
