I'm not sure if this going to make sense but...

1) I'm making a record that I'd like to sound like an old 70's soul/R&B Vinyl LP. Outside of pop and crackles (and within Pro Tools), does anybody have any suggestions to create that effect?

I am in the process of crossgrading from Sonar to Samplitude 7.xx. I hear good things about the 'sound ' of Samplitude and was: 1.] wondering what peoples opinions are regarding percieved differences in sound quality from one audio software to another, and 2.] do the algorythms in the audio software affect the quality of sound produced by plugin fx?

I just got Roland Orzabal's (Tears for Fears)
custom built Guitar Effects Board built by PETE CORNISH in 1983.
It is in good condition.

I dont know anything about Pete Cornish, any info?
Is this a valuable item?

Can anyone recommend a directX plugin or package that has vocal effects - such as 'robot' or 'telephone' or ? I would prefer to pay for it and have some quality than to download it for free and have it just take up room on my hard drive.

Opinions on what are best vocal effects devices? By "best", I am thinking of those that allow for the most flexibility and options in working with and improving the quality, sound, and timbre of the human voice. Thank you.

Anyone ever use one of these? I just got one for super cheap, I figured I will get some sort of dirty flanger effect outa it by the looks.

I'd like to get a survey of what everybody likes to use on their drums with regards to reverbs, delays, and some oher spatial effects. Do you use outboard gear or plugins? what are they? any settings you like to shoot for? any tricks? I'm not looking for a "what's the best way blah blah blah" here, just whatever you like to do on your drums depending on the style.

Hey all, I need a bit of advice on a song I'm about to master. I'm in the middle of mixing and mastering three songs - then judging how it all comes out and what mistakes I may have made. This is in prep for 'real' recordings later.

Im interested to find out how to create that effect u hear most recently on the Linkin Park album, where u often stutter vocals, drums, guitars and various things... it sounds like a robotic, escalating sound... It sounds like a combination of editing the stutter pieces witha combination of efx... any help?
