Water Damage - Testing Studio Equipment

Had a bit of a disaster over Xmas.

A water pipe in our ceiling burst and basically flooded the ceiling, which drained itself through the few exit points it had - one of which came across another ceiling and down the back of my control room wall, and flooded the desk, soaking most of my rack gear from the bottom - everything sits in 4U racks in a circle right around the desk.

Recording equipment help - how to improve my sound?

I went from a pg57 mic, into Behringer mixer pres, into my PC's creative sound blaster audigy -

then upgraded to an sm 57/cascade fathead, going into an m-audio dmp-3 preamp, into an m-audio audiophile 192 on my pc.

I heard some improvement, but not much. My sound, to me, is still way worse than a lot of guys recordings I hear - not even pro.

DJ Equipment

Hey I'm looking at buying some DJing equipment and I was wondering if any of you guys had thoughts or ideas on good companies or products for mixers and for turntables. And also, all that I'll need to have the right set-up.

Thanks a lot.

equipment help--filming live performance

hello all,
normally i comb literally every crack of a forum for the information i need, but tonight...unfortunately i have to ask without doing much of my own researching...

I'm helping out some friends film a live music performance in a venue tomorrow night--more documentary style--but tonight we just found out they want us to get as clean audio as possible.

How To Take Care Of Live Equipment

Long story short, I'm running quite a bit of sound lately and I'm finding it difficult, a pain, and risky hauling all of my equipment (speakers, amps, effects, mixer, etc) in the back of my pickup truck. I'm going to start looking into a small 5x8 enclosed trailer that I can pull. My goal is to be able to not only use the trailer to haul everything, but to also store everything as well.

Looking for some suggestions on recording equipment...

Hello guys, I'm kaehyu, new here; first post. :)

I was redirected here from the head-fi forums.

I need a little help starting up a small (for now) recording set-up for acoustic guitar and vocals and possibly other acoustic instruments. We'll be recording to my computer... but the thing is, we really don't know where to stat; we don't really know much about studio gear.
