Compare foam to RealTraps
Kurt,
If you want to compare foam to my products, at least do it fairly. That is, show the relevant frequency ranges. Since you are either unwilling or incapable of providing a fair and unbiased comparison, I request that you edit your post to remove all references to my company's products.
Thanks.

Whats Your Windows Mixer Record Level set at?
Hello-
Whats your windows mixer Record Level set at ?
Does anyone out there tweak that?
I don't want to miss out on any signal I could be getting. I saw a screenshot of somebody's in a post the other day and theirs was set twice as high as mine.
The Mysteries of the Quiet CDR
Could someone please explain why a CDR that I burn on my PC, even with heavy limiting, always sounds a few dB quieter than a commercial release? Will a Masterlink burn a commercial level CD?

It should be a very good show. And the weather must be better than it is in NYC. I will give you guys a full report when I get back.

recording simultaneous tracks?
I'm fairly new to the whole recording scene. I currently have a PC with a small 4 channel mixer, a couple compressors, and a mic preamp. I'm wondering... what is the simplest solution that will allow me to record multiple tracks at once on my computer? I have FireWire and USB 2.0 and room for a PCI card as well. I would need like 4 in at once. Any suggestions?
Thanks :)

How to do "vari-speed"?
Hi!
I have a problem.
Back i the old analog days I really liked to change the speed of the recorder when it was time to do overdubs on the bgvocals. ( the old ABBA-school) I really liked the sound you get when you do the overdubs +/- 10%.
Nowadays I mainly work with Cubase SX (PC)... and I wonder if there is any easy way to do the same thing on my DAW?

simple question about dynamic effects
We aquired (for free) a valley people 610 stereo compressor/expander from my parteners work (a cable tv distributor who was going to throw it, and a ton of soundproofing foam out) and I'm just curious what exactly an expander does.
