More important: front end(A/D) or back end (D/A)?

Wanted 2 knno from others about which end is more improtant 2 have(if u have 2 have just the 1)?

We are a hip hop production team/company. We make beats using mostly samples and keyboard. So we dont do any live recording. No special outboard gear(yet). We track using our beat machines(MPC/Triton) patched directly 2 our Digi 002. Thats it.

Front end all in one? Pendulum Quartet 2 -Avalon 737sp etc

I am looking now to expand my front end chain. currently i have the M5 and 747sp into a TC M3000.

I was wondering about the Quartet 2 but the cost is pretty high although i understand why after having talked to someone about it.

that being said and i know this is subjective but has anyone used that and compared it to say a 737sp, or a stt-1, or just the Quartet?

front end for daw

Hi
after years of creating music with an average pc, cheap soundcard and cracked software Ive decided to invest in a proper set up (including purchasing the programs and plugins Ive 'trialed' extensivly).

Im collecting information on the best equipment for my needs and have spent a month gaining a lot of info off this site before making my first post.

What would you buy for your front end for $12,000

Alrighty...I'm going to raise $12,000 to buy some nice analog and A/D front end for my personal Studio. If you have 12K, what would you buy as the ultimate front end for the price. I'll try to get bargan prices on ebay and buying local since my area (San Francisco bay area) seem to have lots of equipment floating around.

front end confusion

Can anyone please advise on an appropriate "front-end" for my DAW system.

Up till recently I had a large number of keyboard modules, samplers, drum machines, fx boxes etc which, for convenience, I had permanently wired in to a Mackie 32.8. Now I've updated to a G4 plus loads of software instruments and fx. I've got a RME multiface and ADAT so have plenty of inputs and outputs.
