I need some help with levels and gain staging (I think). .

All of my mixes have level issues. I'm not looking for "industry standard" volume, or would be foolish enough to even believe I have the knowledge or equipment to achieve it. That said, my stuff is pretty weak.

High Gain amp. For recording also.

Hi!

a band that records with me, and we are all getting a little sick of using guitar emulation. Mostly heavy metal. There is this amp available to us, and the band is intreasted in purchasing it. We checked it out, and i though it sounded good. But no one really has any idea how real amps are supposed to sound. So I thought id ask.

Master outs on my mixer have a higher gain rating than...

I have a denon dj mixer with balanced XLR output jacks operating at a +4dB gain level. I have these jacks connected to the balanced XLR inputs on my Edirol UA101 usb audio interface which according to the manual are rated at -10dB. I have tried recording a mix from my mixer into Sonar through the UA101 and it was successful and sounds great.

Adjusting " Gain " settings on Alesis Masterlink M

:(

I am a new user with the Alesis Masterlink, and need some help understanding how to get to ( and change as needed ) the
" Gain" settings on the Masterlink. Why? Well, whatever I record on my Yamaha Pro 9000 Keyboard to the Masterlink ( then making a CD ), is so low in volume that it is almost impossible to hear on any other system.
