I have just recorded two CD's for clients. One is vocal with piano and the other is solo piano. Both were recorded with Steinway B's.

Im new to all of this and i want to know which headphones are good for what i want.

Im a singer and when I'm recording, i want to hear my music.
But i dont want the music to go in the mic.
You know, what they have in those studio's.

HERE'S what I'm looking for:

I need sealed type.
Very comfortable.
Not too bright (fatigue factor).
Under $250

Ultrasone pro 750 V.S Grado RS-1 V.S Senheisser HD 650 V.S stax omega II headphone

I was thinking of purchasing a pair of headphones to make Micing decisions. And also as an alternative mix reference.

We get AKG's and Sennheisers around here. What are my good options ?

Also, I was thinking of picking up a couple of AKG K55 (cheap) headphones for cue mixes to the floor. Do these work well ?

Isolation (sound bleeding OUT of the headphones)
Quality
Comfort
Fatigue
Price

Looking at Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Ultrasone (model?), and Bose QuietComfort 2.

Any others to consider?

is there a difference in the sound of the k240df and k240s?
I want to buy mixing headphones, somebody i know who run a good studio for years suggested me beyer dt990pro, but they are a bit over my budget, how do they sound different than the k240 ? do they really worth saving up?

this question is aimed more at the guys who are running DAW I guess, without an analog mixer (staying completely internal),

I've got another thread out here asking about a subwoofer - just to use to check if the bass is out of control...

Would you guys recommend just getting a really nice set of headphones instead that reach way down there?

Is there a set of headphones that it would be safe to trust - just for making sure the low end is in check?

I'm looking for something for recording individual and live mixes with my band...probably a 4 or 6 channel headphone amp...suggestions? comments? warnings?
