Sample library player for Heavy Metal
I am about to purchase a sample library player and I am wondering which one is most suited to my tastes.
The music I plan on making is Heavy metal like Tool, Perfect Circle, Metallica, sounding guitars, bass guitars and drums. It can be both single hits and loops but I definetly need a quality virtual distortion guitar.

Tight, heavy guitar tone?
I'm currently working on a musical project that i've been writing for sometime and am looking for a really tight, heavy as hell guitar tone to underpin technical melodies and heavy use of orchestration.
My two choices for guitar tracking are an M-Audio Black Box and Native instruments Guitar Rig 2.

Nearfield Monitors for mixing Heavy Metal.
I'm in the market for some new monitors for my home studio. I'm looking for quality, nearfield - powered monitors. They will primarily be used for mixing Heavy Metal. So I need them to be tight in the low end with plenty of thump and clarity. I don't want something too bright as they're far too fatiguing for this genre.

Reverb and Heavy Music
Let me preface this post by saying that I realize that mixing is entirely subjective. However, I need a place to start and I figured no better place to ask than recording.org.
That being said let me move to the question.
Is reverb often placed on every element of a song to provide a sense of depth/space?

Ceiling stand for heavy mic ?
Hi,
In order to save some space in my vocal booth I want to hang my vocal mics (RODE K2 and AKG C414) from the ceiling instead of using a floor stand.
I can't find anything on the net suitable for the very nice, but very heavy RODE K2.
Of course that I want to be able to rise or lower of the mic according to the length of the singer. :P
