home studio acoustics process

Hello all. I am new here. I recently purchased a new house and I plan to start building a home studio. Im hoping to get rolling on this project this fall so I have begun researching my options. I have a feeling that it is going to be a bit tricky. I plan to convert my upstairs loft which isn't hugh but it is a decent size area. My main concern is isolation; particulaly from the outside world.

Buying Home Studio Gear (Need Help!)

Hi,

I need some advice on what gear i should buy to help me record at home, have already have speakers and a computer, but i need some advice on what mixer (or something like that) to record with. On the mixer i will need about 8 mic inputs, for a drum kit! I'm looking to spend about £200-300.

If anyone can help that would be great.

Thanks

Lewis

home studio setup

Hello i own a fostex vf150ex recorder, peavey pv16 mixer, dbx eq, dbx compressor, and an bbe sonic maximiser. i'm planning on buying a few more things but i was wondering before i did this how can i set this equipment up for mixing and then how could i get it onto a computer. I thought of using a usb mixer as my mixing one and then recording the processed signal onto the computer.

Home Studio Recording Hardware

Hi, I am a 17 year old from the UK and have recently become interested in doing some recording. I have tried using the line-in port on my computer and a couple of old microphones and had pretty rubbish results. I am now thinking about buying some equipment so I can do some semi-decent recording, however, I am a novice at this and so need some help in what I should be buying.

New home studio, tips and recommendations?

Ok so I have been playing instruments for my whole life and I have been playing in few bands. Now studio times and prices are starting to be serious pain in the ass for the band, and an idea of setting up little home recording studio has came up in my mind several times. I have just a little experience in simple garage recording, so your opinions and tips are important.

help setting up a starter home recording studio

I wanted to see if I could get some advice on what to go with to get a decent home studio setup. I already have Cubase SX but I have used Adobe Audition 1.5 for all my recordings thus far. I want to get into the midi so that is one thing I’m looking for. I have somewhere between 400 -600 dollars to spend so that is my budget.
