I haven't been able to find a list of Interfaces compatible with Pro Tools 10 (i know the Mbox series and Digidesign 002-003) So does anyone have a resource where i can get a list of compatible interfaces?

I did this last year, just after I started realizing how important the ADDA quality is. With practice I plan on getting better at comparisons and admit I've learned so much more since this and have so much more to go.

Okay, so I'm sort of a newbie to recording. I have a background in live sound, and understand the basics and more. But as I begin to slowly assemble a "studio" of sorts, I've come across a question that I, regardless of hours worth of research, still cannot draw a clear answer to.

So, I recently started playing guitar (about a year ago), and I always played/studied with my Guitar and Amplifier.

I really need some Good Advice & Help with Planning a Home recording studio. This seems like one of the best forum on the Net for studio setup and gear, so I feel like you guys can Really Help me..

Right now focused on getting an audio interface and microphone to start recording. I play the trumpet and only other options would be if I decided to plug my Yamaha 155 digital piano in which is less likely or if a friend that I play in an ensemble also plays guitar if we ever chose to record something together. I like the multi-use XLR and having 2 inputs and a few options.

Ok .. so here's the deal.

I'm going to be saving my ass off to buy an interface for my new studio so that I can use my pro tools 8 and have more inputs than my MBOX.

I want 8 simultaneous inputs or more so that I can happily do decent drum tracks..

Has anyone got any experience using multiple interfaces (2 8 channels devices, 1 Mackie and 1 MOTU 828) linked S-PDIF? Is S-PDIF a universal data format such that any hardware that speaks it can talk and/or pass data if I need to record 16 channels using CUBASE?

Why is it that many manufacturers of firewire audio interfaces advertize that they are bus powered and thus good for field recording, when virtually no notebooks come with 6 pin firewire connects? I think except for a Mac or two, virtually all pc's are 4 pin, and I am almost certain that they must be 6 pin to provide power.

I need a little help choosing audio interfaces as there is a lot of conflicting info out there and I am pretty confused .
