I've heard that the new pro tools systems won't have it compulsory to use at least one HD audio I/O.

can any one confirm this? is this just a rumour?

i'm planning to purchase the HD2 system and was thinking of getting the Prism ADA Dream. Now if this is true, then i'd like to run only the Prisms.

Basically, I need a 2 in/10 out soundcard. It doesn't have to be top of the line or support more then 24/48k operation but it does have to be cheap. The m-audio delta and ones similar to it only give you 8 1/4" outs with the others being S/PDIF. I need at least 10 1/4" out on it. If it has more then 2 in, thats ok, I just don't need them. Anyone know of any soundcards that do this?

OK, I would like to be able to hook up more outboard gear to my setup. I have already made use of the analog 1/4" i/o's. What do I have to do to be able to hook up to the ADAT/digital i/o's on my 001? I am using a 733mHz quicksilver G4 as well.

I've been using an Echo Mia for a while now but i recently purchased a Marian Marc ADAT card and a Behringer ADA8000.
Installed it all without a hitch and it all works very well(running both the card and ada8000 at 24/44.1).

I'm shopping for a box that will allow me to transfer tracks off my 8-track reel into a software program like Cubase SX or Samplitude (both of which I am demoing) for mixing.

I haven't been able to get Pro Tools to acknowledge digital signal from the Focusrite ISA428 ADAT outputs.

The main problem seems to be that in my Hardware preferences, I can't change the Optical choice from S/PDIF to ADAT. Its greyed out.

What do I do?

Hey guys, Has anyone here ever used the MOTU 24 I/0. I was told you can recording 24 simlutaneous tracks straight to a PC. But can a descent PC handle that. It's host based. I dont know. I was thinking rather than that go with an Alesis HD24 which I've had some great experience with. Suggestions? Advice? Thanks, Jeremy

So these are the two options in my price range I have been investigating. I was hoping for some seasoned DAW advice before I made any purchases. A little background as to what finds me at this juncture: I am getting into production for local advertisements,(radio mostly)and need to get vocals into logic platinum over some midi sequences.
