Eq116 vs ozone 9 FIR EQ vs mAAT EQ Orange for Linear Phase Quality
Forums
I love the eq116 Linear phase mode filters but I did some research I was told that "Maat EQ Due to the double IIR Filter the lowcut becomes a Linkwitz-Riley Filter. For me and many others it’s the king of the surgical filters and it can really work miracles." really have this degree difference between eq116 and maat eq orange or Ozone 9 digital (surgicel FIR eq) ?

EQ116 Linear Phase - subtle 'PLOC' noise
Forums
Hi there.
This problem has haunted me every time I use the 'Linear Phase' mode on the EQ116: a subtle but audible 'PLOC' is added exactly in the beginning of some tracks.
When I change to 'Oversampling' or 'Normal' modes, this subtle noise disappears.

Is the Zoom H6 linear enough below 20Hz or is there a HP filter?
Forums
Hi!
I'm condidering using the relatively low cost Zoom H6 recorder for low frequency vibration logging. As I understand it the device as Auto rec functionality that I can trim to start the recording when levels are higher than a specified value... that's all good. but...

Massenburg Hi-Res Parametric: Linear or Minimum Phase?
Forums
I just got to play with a demo of the Massenburg Hi-Res Parametric EQ. It sounds pretty nice to me, but I would like to know more about it. Is it IIR or FIR? Linear phase or minimum phase? Nothing I can find online mentions these details, but maybe someone here has some inside info.

Cambridge spanked by TRacks Linear Phase EQ
Forums
With the IKMultimedia promotion on their plugs currently get 5 plugs for $99 I thought I would demo them since I mostly use the UA plugs when mixing. I thought I would do a little test against the Cambridge and their Linear Phase EQ. In a session I usually use the Cambridge on non-essentials but in this case I wanted to para-metrically remove stuff from a guitar track so I used it on that.

Equing and linearity
Forums
Do you pro guys usually use a 31band graphic eq to "straighten out" the audio? when I use a spectrum analyzer set on RMS, I see that the line is pretty straight. so is this an "important" factor when mastering a track? I have tried to do it myself, and in some cases it can sound much more open, but at the same time take away some of the tracks "personality".

LINEAR phase x Minimum phase
Forums
Hi folks
Seems Waves linear phase EQ is a very interesting plugin and approach. However, I have seen some pro mastering guys complaning that subtracting at the mids shall make the sound a little weird.
How do you deal with linear phase x minimum phase eq choices? Of course Hi-Q filters shall introduce a much bigger phase shift.
