WhichMesa Head is best for Metal? I been looking at the Triple Rec any opinions out there?

Hi I am looking for some good drum samples for metal(Kick, Snare and toms) I can use Gog or Wav.

I was just wondering everbodys thoughts on how metallica achieved its guitar sound on the garage inc album. On songs like astronomy, whisky in a jar, turn the page. I was wondering peoples thoughts on what amps they used, amp settings, mic technique, mic placement, tracks, tuning, plugins, eq, everything.

I have a 57 mic and was thinking of getting a MD421 to but on outside of cone to get best of both workd straight on and off center. Still though. do they compress the sh*t out of the tracks? how do they EQ them. I just can't get a clear up front sound.

This is my recording chain:

Gibson Explorer (stock pups) ----> Behringer Virtualizer Pro (for comp and noise gate) > Boss Metal Zone ----> MOTU 828 ----> Cubase

Can anyone tell me how to get the best distorted metal sound out of this chain cos whenever I record it sounds really crappy and more fuzzy than metal distortion.

Hi, Im new to the site, and recording in general.

I have Sonar 6.0. A tone port line 6 device, which i think works great for what i need to accomplish. I dont like any of the presets it has.. because it still doesn't like the real thing. So I've made the decision to MIic My peavey 5150 2.

i record melodic death metal and i need a good amp. kinda similar to in flames colony-clayman era (and somewhat their newest album), i think they use a peavey but I'm unsure of the model? like what sounds really clean, high gain, but not a dead mess of fuzz? (please dont say marshall..)

This is my first post and I would really like some life saving help on this one.

I am about to purchase a sample library player and I am wondering which one is most suited to my tastes.

The music I plan on making is Heavy metal like Tool, Perfect Circle, Metallica, sounding guitars, bass guitars and drums. It can be both single hits and loops but I definetly need a quality virtual distortion guitar.
