Splicing/Cropping/trimming? an audio file in Pro Tools LE 8 for Mac OSX

Not sure exactly what the correct term is, which is probably why I can't find an answer online, but does anyone know how to trim an extremely small part of an audio file? I've tried zooming in, changing the main counter to "min:sec", "bars:beats" and then "samples"...but still, it doesn't give me that much leeway with cropping.

Connecting a third screen to a mac G5

I currently have a mac G5 with two video screens connected, running Logic Pro. Of course there is never enough screen space and I would like to add a third monitor. The two I have are connected to a video card with two identical connectors on the back, no problem there. To add a third monitor, I am assuming I need another video card.

Need advice on Power mac G5 2.3 dual core or 2.5 quad core for recording

Hello recording gurus. I've decided to re-build my recording studio. I was initially a PC guy and decided to convert to a MAC. Due to financial setbacks, I'm limited to purchase an older mac. I've came across both a G5 dual 2.3 ghz, 250 gb, and 3.5 gb RAM for $180. Seller used the platform for mixing electronica music. He has pro tools and logic preinstalled.

Moving from Logic 5.5(PC) to Mac setup

For the last ten years I have being using a PC set up to run Logic Audio. I'm still using the Audiowerk card purchased 12 years ago. Although the system works fine I feel it time to move into the 21 Century and get a Mac setup.
What would be my best option in terms of computer (i.e. What Mac) external midi controller and Audio interface? I know nothing about Macs
